La foto dietro il mio racconto - The picture behind my story

Voting has been closed for the first episode of the writing contest hosted by Di Lana e D'Altre Storie "Lavorando a maglia" and thanks to all of you my story won! As I promised, I'm posting the picture which inspired my work, mainly autobiographic but with some literary licence in it. The theme for the second episode is now online: The Time I Regained. The best works will be published in a book which will be later sold for charity. And there's also a great prize for this month's winner: a handcrafted yarn bowl. Let's get started, guys! I almost forgot, all works must be in Italian.

La volta delle prime volte - Tho one with the first times

When it comes to knitting there are a couple of things that scare me to death: knitting in the round with DPNs and cables. This year Becca chose without hesitation her new hat and cowl: SBC Braided Headband/Hat and Cowl Set by di Knits by Katherine Great choice, I must admit: she got both things together, cables and DPNs. I summoned all the corauge I could find and row after row I got to the end of it. I love cables, they are not so scary and offer a whole world of possibilities but I still hate DPNs, with all my heart and soul. It's fun to try something new from time to time... I should do that more often. Needless to say, my girl is head over heels with the result.

E poi... si vince! - And then... I win!

The online shop Crazy Annie Stitchin' has this great monthly wishlist giveaway going on. Every fortnight they randomly draw two people who win an item from their wishlist and I was one of October's winners. Some ten days later guess what I found in my mailbox? Polka Dots Matrioska by Madame Chantilly! Thanks Annie, this is such a great gift! All my projects are pretty frozen at the moment due to lack of time.... but maybe next year. I can already see how it would look in my sitting room...

SAL 4 seasons - Autumn

Holidays and my maternity leave have eventually come to an end. I haven't stitched so much as I would have loved to lately but I was able to start the third part of the 4 seasons SAL hosted by Il Coniglio nel Cappello. November 15th seems so near. Must find more time to stitch.

And since I currently have more UFOs than ever, I decided to take part in the new A little snow Sal also. I'll do my best and hope God will do the rest. :-)

Esprimi parole di apprezzamento e gratitudine - Say words of appreciation and gratitude

Man is a constant surprise to me. This is what he wrote on his Facebook page on my birthday:
"Today's my wife's birthday. No gift will ever be big enough for what you're doing for our family. I LOVE YOU and I hope that your creativity will keep filling up our home. And to all crafters out there: have a look at her blog!"

This brought me to tears. And my blog never had so many hits as that day.
